Payroll Clerk Career Description

Full-Time Position

Entry level position assisting HR/Payroll in daily duties. Accurately issue pay to employees by calculating earnings and deductions in accordance with established practices and guidelines. Confidentiality is an absolute must in this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Knowledge of Excel preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and problem-solving skills.
  • Friendly attitude with good verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Reviews and verifies payroll data from all departments.
  • Process adjustments and performs accrual reconciliations.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy required in daily paperwork and computer data entry.
  • Update paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes etc.
  • Deal with questions regarding payroll from employees and management.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll.
  • Maintain confidential employee information.
