Krist Oil Company Taking Steps to Become a Gold-Level Veteran Friendly Employer
Krist Oil Company was awarded the Bronze-Level Veteran Friendly award granted by the Michigan Veteran Affairs Agency. This award is given to employers for their commitment to hiring veterans and educating human resources personnel on how to connect veterans with the services and resources available to them through the Michigan Veterans Resources Service Center. We are honored to have received the Bronze-Level Award and strive to become a Gold-Level Veteran Friendly Employer which is the highest level to achieve. This is our commitment to hiring more veterans and to create an overall veteran friendly work environment for our veteran and active military employees. In order to continue our efforts, Krist Oil Company just signed the Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve on November 11th, 2021. By signing the Statement of Support we are pledging to recognize and honor federal laws governing the employer service member relationship. We value the skills Reserve-Component members bring to the workplace and support them in times of peace, crisis, and war.
We are proud to be an American owned business. Krist Oil’s legacy began four generations ago when their grandfather traveled from southeastern Europe in 1909 in search of the American dream. Starting off as a small candy shop and tavern in Caspian, MI to support local miners, our company has since expanded to 75 plus convenience store locations throughout Michigan, Northern Wisconsin, and Minnesota. As of today, Krist employs many Veterans and active military service members.

Krist Oil is a family owned and operated company since 1917. They have 75 plus convenient store locations across Michigan, Northern Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Krist Oil also operates several propane plants in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and northern Wisconsin supplying propane and fuel oil to area homes.
