Part Two: The Long Road to the Podium

Olympics, Near Misses & Never Quitting

Nick made his Olympic debut at the 2010 Winter Olympics, officially reaching the stage every athlete dreams of. While he didn’t walk away with a medal, the experience only strengthened his resolve.

Over the next several years, Nick continued to push himself at the highest level of competition. His success at the Winter X Games, including a gold medal in 2011 and a silver in 2012, solidified his reputation as one of the sport’s toughest and most relentless competitors.

Nick returned to the Olympic Games in 2014 and again in 2018, coming agonizingly close to a medal with a fourth-place finish in PyeongChang. For many athletes, that might have been the end — but for Nick, it was fuel.

Through every setback, Krist remained proud to support Nick’s journey — not just the wins, but the perseverance it takes to keep showing up year after year. His career became a powerful reminder that success isn’t always immediate, and that consistency matters.
