Local Product Highlight: Blackrocks Brewery, Beer
In 2010, Blackrocks Brewery founders David and Andy were looking down the barrel of economic downsizing in their industry. They decided to take it as an opportunity instead of a problem. The two set out to take their basement hobby to a new level! The dream of all home-brewers–to become legitimate and open a commercial brewery–was becoming their reality. Blackrocks still brews beer at the original pub, as well as a 20 BBL production system in Marquette, MI.
They hoped it would be well received, but they didn’t realize the amount of interest the locals had for craft beers. Along the way they hired some awesome people to bring the brewery together. Two key ideas fuel Blackrocks Brewery on a day-to-day basis: always make the best beer possible and have fun doing it. Today they offer numerous craft beers and lagers.
Visit the brewery at 424 N 3rd Street in Marquette, MI where they hold events all month long! Enjoy live music, open mic nights, and trivia.
